Sustainable Whitehorse is Whitehorse City Council's inspiring program of workshops, activities, webinars and events held at various locations across the municipality. It covers a wide range of topics from low-waste living, thrifty gardening to improving the energy efficiency of your home, connecting with nature and more. Join us in learning, living and growing together as a connected community, caring for our environment and creating a healthy climate for a better future.

Creating a Pollinator Pot + Nursery Tour! (Mandarin Session) // 制作授粉昆虫友好花盆+苗圃参观!

欢迎参加在 Greenlink Nursery 举办的“授粉昆虫花盆工作坊与苗圃参观”活动。在这里,你将了解授粉昆虫(如蜜蜂、蝴蝶等)在生态系统中的重要作用,并学习如何在阳台、小庭院甚至有限空间中,为它们提供食物与栖息环境。

Toy Swap and Toy Hospital

Bring your children along to our Toy Swap to exchange pre-loved toys for something ‘new’ while helping reduce waste. Suitable for children aged 2–8 years, with up to 6 toys per child, plus a special Toy Hospital for soft toys needing repairs.

Navigating the Low-Waste Cleaning World

Water Wise Gardening

As the climate changes we need to take even more care with how we capture, store, divert and use water efficiently in our gardens. Presented by Sustainable Gardening Australia, this workshop will help both you and your garden to become more waterwise.

Topics covered include soil care, mulching, plant selection, capturing rainwater and water smart technologies.

Zero Waste Gardening with The Urban Nanna

Join permaculture and sustainability educator, Anna The Urban Nanna, for a hands-on presentation-workshop where you’ll learn about frugal, waste-savvy ways to access healthy soil, plants, seeds, fertiliser and mulch. Then have a go at making some upcycled items to use around the garden.

Introduction to Book Repairs

Give your cherished books a new lease on life in this hands-on book repairing workshop with Paperazzi Design Studios' resident paper artist, Michelle Lackenby.
