Whitehorse Sport and Recreation Australia Day Trophy

The Whitehorse Sport and Recreation Australia Day Trophy is awarded annually to a Sport and Recreation Club or community group based in the City of Whitehorse. The Trophy is a perpetual trophy recognising clubs and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to the local community. 

Nominate your club or recreation group for the Whitehorse Sport and Recreation Australia Day Trophy. Winners will be presented with a trophy at the Whitehorse Australia Day Celebrations and will appear in an article in the Whitehorse News, Council's monthly newsletter.

The Whitehorse Sport and Recreation Australia Day Trophy aims to:

  1. Recognise the importance of strong community values and support systems that exist amongst sport and recreation clubs and community groups in the City of Whitehorse.
  2. Recognise clubs and community groups who provide opportunities that benefit the broader Whitehorse Community.
  3. Encourage clubs and community groups to engage the community by providing a broad range of participation opportunities.

Criteria and Eligibility 

  1. The Whitehorse Sport and Recreation Australia Day Trophy will be awarded to a sport and recreation club or community group based in the City of Whitehorse. (Note: this includes Scouts and Girl Guides but excludes Service Clubs).
  2. The sport and recreation club or community group must be involved in a project or provide opportunities that benefit the broader Whitehorse Community.  
  3. The sport and recreation club or community group must be not for profit.
  4. Nominees must be Australian citizens and unless there are exceptional circumstances, must be residents of Australia.
  5. The project or activity run by the club or organisation must have taken place within 12 months prior to deadline.
