Women in Sport Leadership Program applications open now

Whitehorse City Council is thrilled to announce the launch of the Women in Sport Leadership Program, a unique opportunity for grassroots community leaders who are passionate about driving change in their communities.  

This program is a testament to our commitment to fostering inclusive and diverse leadership at every level of community involvement, and it’s open to all female sports leaders in Whitehorse.

We’re excited to have April Wilson being part of this initiative. April has over 12 years of experience in sport coaching development and management, has worked across YMCA Victoria, Gymnastics Victoria and the Paralympics. Michael King has been in sport management and consulting for more than 16 years, is specialist in culture and strategic planning for sports club and will be actively involved in delivering the program.  

Program information:

  • The program includes 4 sessions and attendance at the Whitehorse Sport Awards.
  • Focus on leadership, communication skills and managing conflict.
  • Workshops kick-off in May and finish in July with the Whitehorse Sports Awards night running in October.
  • Open to all females in the Whitehorse community – whether you’re an athlete, coach, committee member or volunteer.
