Wattle Ward Updates - October and November 2026

Councillor update from Cr Andrew Davenport

As the winter sports season ends, congratulations to everyone who took part in our local clubs. Whether you played your first game, reached a personal goal or cheered from the sidelines, you helped make this season special. A big thank you to the parents, carers, coaches and volunteers who keep community sport going and provide opportunities for participation for all. From driving to training and washing uniforms to running the canteen, your time and care make a real difference. You help people of all ages stay active, build friendships and feel welcome.

Special congratulations to Wattle Park Amateur Football Club on winning the 2026 Division 3 Men’s premiership! What a wonderful reward for the hard work of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters. Enjoy celebrating this proud achievement together.

Our community spirit has also been on display along Gardiners Creek. Congratulations to KooyongKoot Alliance, Urban Guerrillas and Friends of Gardiners Creek Reserve on their successful volunteer planting activities over the last 12 months. Your efforts create homes for wildlife and make our green spaces better for everyone to enjoy.

I also welcome Whitehorse Council’s Open Library concept for longer access to Nunawading Library. Giving people more time to visit would help students, workers and families fit reading and learning into busy lives. Libraries are valuable places to learn, find information and connect with others.

Lastly, Whitehorse Council has a photo competition for our annual calendar. If you would like to submit a photo for consideration, please visit yoursay.whitehorse.vic.gov.au
