Victorian Government Activity Centres

The State Government has announced 3 Activity Centres in Whitehorse as part of its Activity Centres Program:

  • Blackburn Station
  • Nunawading Station
  • Mitcham Station

What is Activity Centres Program

The Activity Centres Program is a Victorian Government initiative aimed at increasing housing near public transport. The Program is part of the implementation of Plan for Victoria, the Government’s community-led strategic land use plan for Victoria.

Why is the State Government undertaking this work?

  • To identify areas close to public transport, services and jobs to build more homes to accommodate Victoria’s growing population.
  • To promote sustainable and walkable communities by reducing reliance on cars.
  • To enhance access to jobs, services, and amenities.
  • To create more affordable and diverse housing options.
