Types of Emergencies

Emergencies can be medical or family violence emergencies, natural disasters (such as floods, bushfires or heatwaves), communicable diseases (such as pandemic influenza or coronavirus) or a chemical, biological and radioactive emergency.

If any of these occur, the emergency services will work together with Councils, government departments and community organisations to provide the help and support needed by people affected by the emergency.
