Animal Cruelty

Under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986, if you mistreat or fail to properly care for your pets or livestock you can be prosecuted and face fines, jail or a ban on owning an animal.

The RSPCA has a web page dedicated to animal welfare and how you can report animal cruelty.

In addition, it is illegal to tail dock, ear crop or debark dogs and the use of electronic collars (such as Anti-Bark, remote training and containment collars) for dogs is strictly regulated. You can find out more by reading the information about Prohibited Procedures on Dogs.
