Rates Payment Plan Application

If you are unable to pay your rates in full or by instalments by the due date, you may enter into a payment plan.

The Rates Payment Plan Estimator gives you an estimate of how long it will take to pay your rates and charges in full, depending on the amount and frequency you nominate. The payment plan commits you to making regular payments in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments.

Our online estimator below can help you work out how to manage your rates payments.

You will find it useful to have your rate notice to hand while using the estimator.

Penalty interest will not be incurred on this arrangement provided all payments are received regularly as agreed. Should you default on this agreement, penalty interest at the rate of 10.0% p.a. may be charged in accordance with Section 172 of the Local Government Act (1989) and the Penalty Interest Rates Act (1983).

Payments made by credit card will be charged a card processing fee of 0.6%. Visit the rates payment option page for further information on payment options.

Note: Payment Plans for current rates, charges and levies are managed by Council. Payment Plans for arrears are managed by Council’s appointed collection agent, Recoveries & Reconstructions (Aust.) Should your payment plan extend past the current financial year, you may be required to complete a financial statement and apply for hardship under Council’s Rates Hardship Policy ( PDF 603.2KB).
