The Lions Club of Blackburn North serves and supports the local community in the City of Whitehorse as well as national and international projects. Such projects have included: a partnership with Habitat for Humanity building homes for two needy families, a continuing commitment to local children through local high schools and primary schools. We do this by running Youth of the Year and Peace Poster projects, and sponsoring attendance at Licola Camp for disadvantaged and special needs children. We also assist Taralye with its annual Market Fair, and doing "hands on" work at Nadrasca, environmental projects at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, running regular trash and treaure sales at the Vermont Scout Hall. During the bush fires the Tools for Tradies provided basic tools, which provided hope and employment by re-equipping tradesmen devastated by the Black Saturday Fires. At the St Vincent's Hospital Gait Clinic we raised and provided funds to assist it etc.
